The lonely bend

It’s a lonely road there’s a bend ahead and I know not what lies beyond,
Some mile stones I’d pass, some I’d pause and wonder,
A ragged cloud speeds away racing with the wind on my face,
Whips up her hair in my mind and I pause and wonder if the lingering fragrance ever left,
The milestones become a blurr and the road winds away,
But I’d still wait in wonder at my last milestone if the fragrance had never really gone away.
