When Peace Stands Bulleted

Sons of Scotland, I am William Wallace.

*William Wallace is 7 feet tall*

Yes, I’ve heard. Kills men by the hundreds, and if he were here he’d consume the English with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse. And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny. You have come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What would you do without freedom? Will you fight?

*Fight? Against that? No, we will run; and we will live*

Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live — at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!!!

William Wallace on Freedom. May not be the perfect timing to remember his speech when nations bleed in ombré colours of red, saffron, white and green; yet a BraveHeart I be!

International Peace Day is trending on Twitter but the rage and anger the nations show exceeds 140 characters and has nothing to do with peace. If peace here is turning lives into pieces, then this war we are winning! Let’s rain down any possible wish for peace to be bestowed, because we have already fuelled our streets and lit our torches looking for a body to be scorched. What uniform he wears or what tongue he speaks, will determine his love for the war freaks!

The war is no more about an exciting India v/s Pakistan match, nor about how Fawad Khan is Pakistan’s greatest catch! As an Indian child growing in the society and a cricket crazy nation, India v/s Pakistan is a favorite match around the nations! Haven’t you cheered the loss of every single wicket? Heard the slogans of mistrust and abuse, even before the bowler called to the umpire to accuse. The rivalry has always been hyped up at a drop of a hat, people at willing to wage a war without even consulting a diplomat.

How an entire nation has waged war in their minds while some of them still sleep or break their bread for the day, unknown to the fact that a growing population of 1.25 billion have stamped them as #TERRORSTATE. Having a field day and embedded your life into it is great for the “I love my job”, but not when you were only meant to stand by as a watchdog. While you need to show me the truth by being the binocular, you need not be a Siri and guide my thoughts to what is popular. I as an Indian, do not buy your defense on conduct while your anchors don’t stay anchored to their seats and shout about vengeance and war to seek. Inflaming public opinions through jingoistic coverages and leading the war to be started eve before LoC can hold its leverages. Ceasefire that is the state we were in until the governments decided to not talk this over a wire.

In all of this, while I sit in a warm cozy bed at night, blood will be shed, carcasses videotaped without a head. Lives of soldiers will be lost, even though they acted on a command of those who know not the cost. If you want to start a conversation by saying, “Our soldiers are dying at the hands of Pak, yet you seem to think….,” Then Stop! Don’t wage a war where you have nothing to lose but the conversation, of a war that was basically created by someone’s imagination.

Oh, how we dangle the vision of Kashmir being free in front of each other like carcasses of meat, claim the lands like they are ours to keep! Bullet proof our soldiers against each other just to shield the politics that just can’t take cover. All the nation’s a stage like Shakespeare said, they will not rest until one goes to bed.

STOP! Stop with the crazies and the madnesses, we wage wars fired by hate and constantly build dams to water it’s state. Do I fail to understand what it is that we are fighting for? To gain control? To earn a name? To build fear in the eyes of the enemy or are we fighting for peace? From where I stand to see it, #Peace here is bulleted.

Peace will take its debt which is yet to be paid, would we be living to trade that one day when Gandhi just wanted to get laid! Will India still awake to life and freedom without using Pakistan as a reason?
